Cultivate Your Personal Style

An individual’s personal style speaks volumes about the person. The way you dress, groom, communicate describes you. In order to be cutting edge, one certainly needs to dwell into the nuances of identifying their own personal style.

Steps in identifying your personal style:

  1. You don’t need to follow every new trend of the runway to be fashionable. Find the ones that work with your style and for your personality according to your roles & goals.
  2. Be consistent in your style choices but always modern.
  3. Your hair style is just as much a part of your signature style as are your clothes. Learn to work with it rather than against it.
  4. Style is not just in what you wear, it’s in the music you listen to, the perfume you choose, the way you hold yourself and an overall “life style” that you portray.
  5.  Don’t be afraid to experiment. Just because something didn’t work on you earlier, doesn’t mean it won’t look great on you now, fabrics have changed. The way you wear it has changed and yes, your body has even changed.
  6. Look for clothes that you don’t have to worry about, fuss with or pull up all the time or twist back to position. This fidgeting with your outfit strips your confidence and your goal to be effortlessly chic.
  7. If you find something that works great on your body shape and makes you feel confident, stock up on that item and allow it to be your go-to piece when in a hurry.
  8. Dress for your body shape. Always find a way to flaunt your assets and disguise your variations. No matter how much style you have, if you’re not dressing your body correctly for your shape, all your hard work and creativity will be lost.
  9. Most importantly, wear what makes you happy and leave the house confident and ready to take on the world!

It means understanding your body type, personal colors, fashion colors, range of fabrics & patterns that go well with your body type. It also includes grooming, body language and etiquette. Personal style is an integral part of personal branding!!
